STRESSED OUT? ANGRY?? NEED HELP???
The Center's philosophy recognizes that negative feelings (anger, fear, sadness, etc.) are normal for all people. These feelings send valuable signals to the person experiencing them, and to others. Yet sometimes we express these feelings in ways that are damaging.
The Center's programs teach skills that allow individuals to manage their feelings to avoid such damage. Our approach is educational, providing opportunities to practice in a safe environment as new techniques are learned and mastered.

Our meetings are participatory and energizing. The atmosphere is positive and non-judgmental. All of our programs utilize approaches that have proven successful over time, and that satisfy the needs of those ordered by the court or probation to participate in anger management training.
Stress & Anger Management programs are educational. Our curriculum draws from models approved by the Department of Corrections and proven effective over time. Participants learn and practice skills in a constructive, non-judgmental environment.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
Uncontrolled stress and anger create problems in our lives. The Center's programs will teach you specific skills to manage feelings successfully.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Center's approach is educational.
By reviewing real life situations from videos and their own experience, sharing insights about how best to handle such events, and practicing techniques for managing their feelings, participants become comfortable with situations that once provoked stress and anger.
\WHAT ARE THE SESSIONS LIKE?
Sessions normally last two hours, for both the Adult and Teen Stress & Anger programs.

OUR PROGRAMS
Adult Stress & Anger Management Workshop
These on-going groups meet weekly; each meeting lasts one hour. Participants learn to better understand themselves and others, and to manage emotions to avoid blow-ups and improve relationships.
Participants purchase and use a workbook. Meetings are participatory and include skills practice and coaching. Material relates to real life situations.
The program is open to any adult, but is specifically designed to meet the needs of those ordered by the Court or Probation to complete Anger Management Training as part of their sentence. A minimum of 16 sessions is recommended. Group size is limited, but new members may join any time.
Teen Stress & Anger Management Workshop
Similar to our Adult Workshops, these on-going groups address age-appropriate problems. Teens are referred, or may decide on their own to participate. Participants are screened through an intake interview. The Center recommends a minimum of 10 sessions.
