What: International Conflict Resolution Day and Peacemaker Awards

Why: Invitation to the Public to Attend International Conflict Resolution Day Event
STOCKTON- “International Conflict Resolution Day”, to be celebrated on October 15, 2009 at 6:00 PM at Grace Covell Hall of the University of the Pacific, will include a presentation by keynote speaker, Mayor Ann Johnston. The Mediation Center’s “Peacemaker Award” will also be presented.
Receiving the Peacemaker Award will be Tino Adame, a community organizer for veterans’ affairs; Kim DeLaCruz, a correctional officer for the San Joaquin Cty. Sheriff’s Dept.; John Reynolds, Executive Director of the Stockton Shelter for the Homeless; and Margee Ensign, Dean for the School for International Studies, University of the Pacific.
Bringing together community resources that are key to reducing violence in our area will be a focus of the evening’s activities.
